If I was in your shoes, I'd sell your current Z and get a nice, low mileage one. There is a big difference (to me) in the enjoyability factor of a nice, well maintained, low mileage Z as compared to a beaten up one, as well as mechanical differences etc. I've been around a lot of them, and I'm telling you, a beaten up, ragged on '90TT w/100k+ miles is a totally different experience than a '95 w/40k miles (just an example) in a lot of ways. You could afford something close to the latter with $16k. In fact, a gorgeous green on tan '95 w/43k miles just went near me for $11.5k! And, you could also do bolt-ons + smaller turbo upgrade for roughly the same price as supercharging a Vette (~$5k). Although it might not get you 500+hp, it will still be an absolute killer street car, with a lot more class and rarity than any Vette, supercharged or not. I'd choose a nice, clean Vette over a ragged on TTZ, but I'd take a clean, low mileage TTZ over the same Vette, but note that I'm weird and would also probably choose a 60's Ferrari rather than a brand new one. Just some input.
